🇺🇸Elon Musk promised to save $2 trillion by cutting government spending, but the opposite happened!
the DOGE program led by Musk has already resulted in $21.7 billion in losses in the first half of 2025, according to media reports.
Approximately $14.8 billion was spent on paying inactive officials under the deferred layoffs program, over $6 billion went to severance payments for furloughed employees, $263 million was lost due to frozen government loans, and the remainder was wasted on bureaucratic reporting, staff relocations, inefficient projects, and overhead costs.
Senator Blumenthal called DOGE a "failure" and demanded an audit across 27 federal agencies.
