Here are 5 tips to help you boost your immune system during the Coronavirus outbreak. 1. Increase your Hours of Rest In an environment where your body is exposed to a virus, changing lifestyle circumstances and challenges that impact your overall wellbeing & mental state - it’s always important to increase your hours of rest. Aim to get a solid 8 - 10 hours of rest where possible. This is one of the keys to boosting your immune system and lowering your overall stress levels over this period. 2. Eat Lean, Green & Light Increase your overall intake of fresh, healthy, high energy fruit & vegetables. It’s the easiest way to combat any attack from a virus and it will help you to think more clearly and be more energised during a period of uncertainty. If you’re serious about boosting your immune system and thriving in tough times, start getting tough on what you expose your body to and what you are consuming. 3. Reduce your Workout Intensity The #1 thing you can do to lower your bodies exposure to burnout at the moment is reduce the overall intensity of your workout sessions. As many gyms are now starting to close, it’s a good time to get outside, be in nature and change up your workout routine. Focus on walking, running and doing free weight exercises at home or at the park. I’d also recommend that you lower the intensity of your workouts enough, so you can also spread your exercise program across 7 days - This will help with maintaining a daily routine while everything else around you is changing. 4. Set Realistic Time Frames Reduce your stress levels by creating a realistic daily & weekly schedule. As many of you start working from home - You have to factor in the changing landscape of the of the world around you, along with your own personal & professional life. Maintain as much structure in your day as possible, but be flexible in your approach. Each day is a new challenge and it’s important to manage your own expectations. By reducing your stress levels you reduce your exposure to burnout. 5. Rest & Recharge Use this time to rest, recharge and re-tool. That is the best way to boost your immune system in a stressful global & economic environment. @before5am
