Information for those planning to fly out of Russia or back. Today, 8 May, operations were temporarily suspended at 13 airports in southern Russia - Astrakhan, Vladikavkaz, Volgograd, Gelendzhik, Grozny, Krasnodar, Makhachkala, Magas, Mineralnye Vody, Nalchik, Sochi, Stavropol and Elista.
The Ministry of Transport and Rosaviatsiya, together with airlines and airports, are adjusting schedules; the next official update has been promised by 11:00 Moscow time.
Earlier this week, temporary restrictions also affected Moscow airports. If you have a flight scheduled, check the flight status with the airline and on the airport’s online departures board before heading to the airport.
