According to The New York Times, European airlines may face jet fuel supply restrictions in the coming weeks if logistics through the Strait of Hormuz do not return to normal.
Some carriers are already cautiously signalling the situation. For example, Ryanair notes that current fuel supply guarantees cover the period roughly until the end of May.
What this means for travel:
- ticket prices may rise;
- airlines may optimise their schedules (for example, cancel less busy flights);
- changes to departure times or connections.
