✈️ Digital Nomad Visa 2026: new income thresholds
The requirements for digital nomad visas have been updated. Here are the current figures for 2026:
🇪🇸 Spain
from €2849 per month
(+ €916 for spouse, + €305 for each child)
Duration: up to 3 years, renewable. Path to permanent residency available.
🇵🇹 Portugal (D8)
from €3680 per month
(increased since January 2026)
Duration: 2 years + renewal. Eligible for citizenship after 5 years.
🇹🇭 Thailand (DTV)
Not income, but savings of 500,000 baht (~$15,000)
5-year multiple-entry visa, up to 180 days at a time (extendable).
Other popular options:
• Greece — from €3500/month
• Croatia — from €3622/month (maximum 18 months)
• Estonia — from €4500 net (highest threshold in Europe)
• Italy — ~€28–30 thousand per year + diploma
Thresholds are almost everywhere linked to the minimum wage and increase annually. Applications must be submitted strictly based on current figures — applications below the threshold will not be accepted.
