National ICT Week 2026 came to a close with an Awards and Dinner Night, celebrating individuals and organisations contributing to Ghana’s growing digital ecosystem. Congratulations to all the award winners for the recognition of your work and impact. Well done to NITA for putting together a successful week of conversations, learning, networking and engagement around innovation and opportunities in our digital economy. I had the opportunity to experience National ICT Week 2026, and it was great to see some of the conversations shaping Ghana’s digital future happening in one space. I engaged with the Director-General of NITA, Nana Yaw Amoah-Yeboah, as well as some of the partners and sponsors supporting the event. What stood out for me was the focus on innovation, not just for the sake of technology, but as a tool for creating real opportunities for people and businesses in the digital economy. As technology continues to change how we live and work, these conversations are important in ensuring that more people are equipped to participate and benefit. A worthwhile experience at National ICT Week 2026.

It was great engaging with the team from IPMC, one of the sponsors of National ICT Week 2026, organised by NITA. For years, IPMC has contributed to advancing IT education in Ghana, helping people build the digital skills needed to thrive in a rapidly changing world. As our economy becomes increasingly digital, institutions that invest in practical technology education and skills development will continue to play an important role in preparing people for new opportunities. Low self-esteem will have you playing small in the name of being humble. You apologise for everything. You hide from opportunities. You assume other people are more deserving. Before anyone counts you out, you have already counted yourself out. Building my confidence over the years has taught me a few things: Accept yourself, including your flaws. Build capacity. The more competent you become, the more confident you get. Surround yourself with people who give you positive energy. Never feel guilty for getting opportunities. You don’t need to be perfect or have everything figured out to feel deserving. Confidence is not arrogance. You can be confident and still be humble. I am still learning, but one thing has changed: I no longer believe I have to make myself smaller to prove that I am humble. Know your value. Keep improving. And when an opportunity comes, don’t count yourself out.

I was at the prize presentation for the first set of winners of the MTN @30 Promotion, and one story really stayed with me. I had the opportunity to speak with one of the winners who had just received a brand-new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. During our conversation, he shared that he had never owned a car before. Imagine your very first car being a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, courtesy of MTN. You could see how much the moment meant to him, and it was beautiful to witness. Beyond the excitement of winning, there was something special about seeing a customer walk away with a prize that marked such a significant personal milestone.
