US inflation figures for March were mixed with a beat at the headline level and a miss on core numbers. The market reacted dovishly initially, but future Vice Chair of the FOMC Brainard's hawkish comments sparked a reversal later in the US session:
- DXY is back above 100
- EURUSD is circa 30 pips from the 1.08 March lows
- GBPUSD looks like it could fall through the 1.30 trap door
- NAS100 has sliced below the 14k level
- Gold continues its strong run with back to back gains
- Spot Brent surged higher by over 5% to finish above its 50-day SMA
