#English_Points 🌹🌹🍃🍃💐💐🍂🍂🍃🍃💐💐🌹🌹 🌹You’re using “date,” “location” and “amount” when there’s a more natural solution Don't say: We'll never know the amount of carrots he ate. But he's looking very orange right now. Say: We'll never know how many carrots he ate. But he's looking very orange right now. Don’t say… “I still don’t know the date of the party.” “Can you tell me the camel’s location?” “We’ll never know the amount of carrots he ate. But he’s looking very orange right now.” Say… “I still don’t know when the party is.” “Can you tell me where the camel is?” “We’ll never know how many carrots he ate. But he’s looking very orange right now.” ✍Why? As you can see, we prefer to use “when,” “where” and “why” as connecting words to make two sentences one sentence: I still don’t know. + When is the party? = I still don’t know when the party is. Can you tell me? + Where is the camel? = Can you tell me where the camel is? We’ll never know. + How many strawberries did he eat? = We’ll never know how many strawberries he ate. ✍These are called embedded questions. ✍Why? Well, they just “flow” better. ❤️🌹🍃🌹☺️🙏 🆔 @Englishlanguageclub

#Common_Mistakes 🌹🌹💐💐🍃🍃🍂🍂🍃🍃💐💐🌹🌹 🌹Wait / Hope / Expect Don’t say: “I’m waiting my friend to call.” Say: “I’m waiting for my friend to call.” ✍Wait = Pass the time until something happens It’s 6:45. I’m waiting for the 7:00 bus. We waited in line for three hours to get tickets to the concert. You need to wait for the computer to finish updating. ✍Don’t confuse “wait” with hope and expect: ✍Hope = Want something to happen I hope I’ll get a promotion this year! I’m sorry to hear you’re sick. I hope you get better soon! The traffic is very bad today. I hope I won’t be late. ✍Expect = Believe that something probably will happen. We’re expecting a visit from some clients – they said they would come at 4:30. My boss expects me to arrive on time every day. ❤️🌹🍃🌹☺️🙏 🆔 @Englishlanguageclub

#Confusing_Words 🌹🌹💐💐🍃🍃🍂🍂🍃🍃💐💐🌹🌹 🌹As Soon As / As Long As ✍As soon as means “immediately after another event.” We’ll call you as soon as we arrive. (if we arrive at 8:00, we’ll call you at 8:05) ✍As long as means “for the period of time” or “on the condition that”: I stayed awake for as long as I could. (period of time) I’ll take the job as long as I have the freedom to work from home a few days a week. (condition) ❤️🌹🍃🌹☺️🙏 🆔 @Englishlanguageclub

#Confusing_Words 🌹🌹💐💐🍃🍃🍂🍂🍃🍃💐💐🌹🌹 🌹During / While ✍Both during and while mean that something happens at the same time as something else. ✍Use during + noun. She cried during the movie. ✍Use while + subject + verb, or while + gerund. She cried while she was watching the movie. She cried while watching the movie. ❤️🌹🍃🌹☺️🙏 🆔 @Englishlanguageclub
