A century later, Paris' Grand Mosque is still shaping France's conversation about identity and faith. Built in 1926 to honor Muslim soldiers who died fighting for France in World War I, the mosque is celebrating its 100th anniversary while presenting itself as both a symbol of Islam and an integral part of French society. Its leaders say younger generations are embracing both their Muslim faith and their French identity, while also calling for more places of worship and warning against misinformation spread on social media. The message is simple: religion and national identity don't have to compete-they can grow together.
