The most picturesque waterfall in West Virginia is Blackwater Falls. In autumn, it gains a special charm: red leaves, fresh mountain air, and the sound of water—all this creates a feeling that nature itself is singing.
Did you know that Blackwater Falls is named after the black-colored water of the Blackwater River, caused by tannic acid from fallen leaves and decaying vegetation? This natural phenomenon adds to the waterfall's unique beauty and allure.
