Κινέτα by Yorgos Lanthimos
Nada. Zilch. Empty void.
Kinetta, the directorial debut of Yorgos Lanthimos, is just that. Unlike Dogtooth or Alps, which started as puzzles - lots of words and actions that didn’t mean much at first, but later, like pieces falling into place, formed a beautiful picture, similar to Simeon ten Holt’s music, complex melody emerging from a collection of random tads and bits - here, nothing. It never comes together. Oh well.
