We're seeking ML Researchers and a Research Lead at METR to conduct experiments on cutting-edge LLMs and develop benchmarks for future AI advancements 🚀
METR collaborates with OpenAI, Anthropic, and other leading labs. For example, they audited GPT-4 and Claude 2 before their release. METR's research is cited by governments, and the company's primary goal is to timely identify the emergence of various dangerous capabilities in ML models. They do this by assigning tasks to the models — from "call someone online" to "replicate an ML paper," and observing their successes and failures.
Available positions:
👑 ML Research Scientist will be responsible for designing evaluation protocols.
Requirements:
— Research experience with LLMs;
— Authorship of articles at the NeurIPS level;
— Significant role in complex ML projects.
👑 Eval Production Lead will be responsible for creating benchmarks and protocols to determine if a model is dangerous, as well as managing internal and external model evaluation projects.
Requirements:
— Management experience (CTO, Founder, Engineering Manager, Tech Lead);
— Engineering experience in big tech;
— Significant experience in ML research.
The salary range is $150k-365k for the researcher and $220k-550k for the lead. The office is located in Berkeley, CA, and they offer a visa without the lottery process!
