How will searching for a tech job with relocation look in 2026? From what we’re seeing running The Global Move and Relocate.me, it will be: • more competitive • more global • more dependent on strategy … than in previous years, especially if you compare against, let’s say, 2021. More specifically: 1️⃣ There will be no “easier market” to move to. Mature tech hubs will stay competitive, and emerging ones will quickly attract global talent. 2️⃣ Over-application will break the traditional application model. Sending more applications won’t necessarily increase your chances. Precision will matter much, much more than volume. 3️⃣ Getting to the first interview will require multiple entry points: direct application, recruiter outreach, referrals, visibility (content, open source, community presence), to name a few. Oftentimes, even for one role. 4️⃣ Being findable will matter as much as applying. Candidates who share projects, write, contribute, and show clear expertise will have a higher chance of being approached rather than ignored. 5️⃣ Referrals will continue to be one of the most effective ways to get interviews. But the nature of referrals will change. This year, cold messages like “Can you refer me?” will rarely work. We’ve broken all of this down in more detail (plus five other predictions) in our new Substack post. If tech job relocation is on your radar this year, it’s worth a read 👇 Ссылка скрыта

What’s the right way to approach the salary expectations question when relocating? Trying to negotiate a US salary in Lisbon or anchoring to your current salary without adjusting for the cost of living can easily backfire. First and foremost, adjust your expectations to the local market. Look at what people earn there and what things actually cost. Otherwise, you risk either lowballing yourself or pricing yourself out of the market. The salary expectations question can come up: - in the application form - during a call with a recruiter - in the final interview stages In our new post for The Global Move, we cover all three in detail, including concrete examples of what to say depending on the situation. We made a list of 70+ tech companies hiring globally 🌍 for remote roles. Check it out here 👇 Ссылка скрыта To build this list, our team used remote job boards, relevant public lists, Boolean search, and paid job search APIs. We manually reviewed each company’s careers or ATS page, job posting wording, application form, and LinkedIn profile (particularly the employee list) to determine whether its remote roles are truly global. Each company listed currently has at least one open remote tech role that can be done from anywhere or from a large portion of the world. Important: • The first 15 companies on the list are publicly visible. The full list is available with a monthly or annual subscription to our Substack. • We’ll review and update the list every 1–2 months. Subscribing (free or paid) ensures you won’t miss future updates.

Who’s planning a move to Germany 🇩🇪 or already going through the process? We suggest you check out a service called Caselink. It’s built by a diverse team of migrants and native Germans with experience spanning 10,000+ relocation cases. They offer support with visa and immigration processes (including the EU Blue Card and Job Seeker Visa), as well as settling in — from local registration (Anmeldung) to housing search and health insurance. Their AI-powered platform handles document verification, form pre-filling, and error checks in seconds instead of days — which translates directly into faster turnaround times and more affordable rates. Given Germany’s well-known bureaucracy and challenging housing market, using a service like this can be a real lifesaver. Learn more about Caselink here 👉 Ссылка скрыта #ServiceRecommendation #Relocation #Germany

Continuing our series of country guides, we’ve put together a list of helpful links for those considering a move to Singapore 🇸🇬. Here we go: ✅ DESTINATION RESEARCH To relocate wisely, start by doing research. 🪪 Visa options: Ссылка скрыта and Ссылка скрыта Plus: • Ссылка скрыта (to check if you need a visa to enter Singapore) 🧾 Taxes: Ссылка скрыта + official guidance from IRAS, the Government agency responsible for the administration of taxes 💵 Take-home pay calculator: Ссылка скрыта (or download the Excel calculator provided by IRAS here) 🛒 Cost of living: Ссылка скрыта Plus: • Numbeo • Ask locals on Reddit (see subreddits below) 🏥 Healthcare & insurance options: • General overview • First-hand insights 📊 Average salary data: Ссылка скрыта 💻💰 Developer salaries in Singapore: NodeFlair.Salaries / Levels.fyi / Glassdoor / Jobstreet + Reddit for first-hand insights (for example) ❓ Ask questions about Singapore: • Ссылка скрыта • Ссылка скрыта • Singapore Expats (Facebook group) ✅ JOB SEARCH: COMPANIES HIRING FROM OUTSIDE SINGAPORE Judging from expat feedback, landing a job in Singapore as a foreigner isn’t easy – and there’s a reason for that. Singapore has policies designed to prioritize hiring local talent. For most roles, companies must apply for an Employment Pass and advertise positions to local candidates first. That said, opportunities still exist. According to Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower, the country employs over 1.5M foreign workers, including 200K+ Employment Pass holders. Here are a few companies I’m aware of that offer visa sponsorship/relocation support: • BandLab (now actively hiring for a Backend Engineer role) • PwC • Riot Games Citibank might also be worth checking out. Redditors say they have a large number of foreign staff, so there’s a chance they still sponsor work visas. To explore the full list (and get notified whenever we publish new guides), follow us on Substack 👇 Ссылка скрыта
