⚠️ WhatsApp OTP (One-Time Password) scams are on the rise For such scams, scammers would attempt to log into victims’ WhatsApp accounts by entering their mobile numbers on WhatsApp and request for a WhatsApp verification OTP. This would trigger an SMS containing the OTP to be sent to victims. Scammers would pretend to be victims’ friends and ask victims for the OTP, claiming that the OTP was sent to them by mistake. Upon receiving the OTPs, scammers would take over victims’ WhatsApp accounts and impersonate victims to scam others in victims’ contact lists.
