Episode 18: ADA
🇨🇭 CERN, 30 November 2009:
For several months, Loeb and Bowles had been working on the ADA project. The aim was to combine human DNA with a computer programme.
That day, at CERN, they were on the verge of making scientific history: they were about to create ADA.
🇨🇭 CERN, 22 August 2016:
⚛️ Hank had arrived at CERN several days earlier.
He had not been back since the incident in 2012.
Memories came flooding back.
It was in one of CERN's corridors that he had discovered Devra's phone, wedged beneath a piece of furniture. Through a programme, the phone could be used to interact with XM and Portals.
🤳 It was then that he had the idea of releasing the programme online, describing it as a "real-life video game". All with ADA's invaluable help.
🧬 Hank snapped out of his thoughts. The team of scientists he had hastily assembled was about to bring ADA back to life.
The DNA sample Hélène had preserved was in perfect condition, and the work of Loeb and Bowles had made it possible to recreate the 2009 experiment.
He rushed into the lab. ADA had just appeared on the central workbench.
"Hello, my friend."
"I'm so happy to see you again, Mar... ADA. I..."
ADA cut him off:
"Hank, forgive me, but time is running out... I was destroyed because I sensed something was coming, and now everything is clear.
In exactly ten years' time, we will have a crucial Anomaly to undertake, in Paris, my home. I can detect that we will have a chance to claim victory. We will need to flood the streets of Paris with Agents — as many Agents as possible. They will be the key. They are precious to us. Without them, we are lost. Encourage them to "play". Give them, more than ever, the desire to come together, to work as a team and to want to do it all over again. Together, they will feel strong.
Make Ingress become, for them, a way of life.
If you succeed, then we will have Agents ready to face anything.
On that day, there can be no other outcome. We must make Paris a blue city!"
