🇨🇳🇵🇭 PLA patrols South China Sea
China’s Southern Theater Command said it conducted routine patrols in the South China Sea from August 21 to 25, using naval and air forces. The statement was issued Wednesday by command spokesperson Senior Captain Zhai Shichen.
The command also accused the Philippines of bringing in external countries to organize so-called joint patrols in the disputed waters and said such actions undermine regional stability. China’s military had earlier said three Philippine small aircraft — an Islander, C-208 and PA-31T — entered the airspace over Huangyan Dao, also known as Scarborough Shoal, on August 21.
The patrol statement extends a pattern of Chinese military signaling around contested areas in the South China Sea as tensions with Manila remain active across both air and maritime domains.
