This week’s #CivilSocietyDigest is out — explore the latest opportunities for civil society changemakers. ➨ People Powered has launched an open call for three programmes: the Climate Democracy Accelerator (CDA), the Democratic Innovations Accelerator (DIA) and the Rising Stars Mentorship. These programmes are focused on participatory climate action, democratic innovations for youth participation in Europe and empowering communities to shape a sustainable future. Perfect for those who want to make a real impact in their communities and take part in decision-making — especially on climate action or youth participation. Apply by November 30. ➨ Front Line Defenders is recruiting a Programme Assistant for the Wellbeing and Resilience Team. This entry-level role will provide administrative support to the team in delivering the Wellbeing and Resilience Programme, including tracking requests, drafting agreements, liaising with HRDs and acting as the main point of contact for Dublin-based programme participants while in Ireland. Apply by November 12. ➨ The BEARR Trust, a UK-based charity supporting organisations that work with vulnerable people across Eastern Europe, Central Asia and the Caucasus, invites you to its Annual Conference, titled “Solidarity and Stamina: How Civil Society Builds and Sustains Resilience.” The conference will take place both in person and online on November 14 at 10:00GMT (London time). It will explore how organisations, communities and individuals across the region adapt and support one another through ongoing challenges. Register to attend online. ➨ Academy in Exile invites scholars at risk to apply for 12-month fellowships in Germany. Eligible are scholars from any country who have a PhD in the humanities, social sciences or law and who are at risk because of their academic work and/or civic engagement in human rights, democracy and the pursuit of academic freedom. Fellowships may start as early as March 2026. The monthly stipend amounts to 2,500 EUR. Applications are due by November 15. ➨ The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is offering a remote or in-person internship. Candidates must be enrolled in the final academic year of their first university degree. Fluency in English is required; studies related to climate change or communications, as well as skills in infographics, photography, videography and social media, are considered strong assets. Apply by November 21.
