Sometimes the biggest retail upgrades happen without opening a single new store. Penneys has unveiled its newly expanded and fully refurbished Dooradoyle store in Limerick after a €7 million investment, nearly doubling the shop's size from 13,400 to 24,600 square feet and creating around 30 new jobs, bringing total staff to 135. The project is part of the retailer's wider €250 million investment plan for Ireland, which also includes a €75 million distribution centre in Newbridge set to open later this year. Sometimes giving shoppers more space is also a way of investing in an entire community.
