One of Ireland's biggest wildlife comeback stories keeps soaring higher. A pair of white-tailed eagles in County Kerry has successfully raised chicks for the fifth consecutive year, as conservationists say the country's wild population has now grown to around 150 birds-enough to become self-sustaining. The recovery follows a reintroduction program launched in 2007, although illegal poisoning and other human-related threats remain the biggest danger to the species. Sometimes the strongest sign that conservation is working is hearing young wings take flight again.
