IDF: Chief of the General Staff in conversation with female observation soldiers at the Gaza Division Headquarters: “You are our eyes on the frontline, the first to identify infiltration threats and call troops to eliminate them.” “I greatly appreciate you and know how important your role is - you protect the country’s borders, the communities in the area, and you are a critical part of the IDF’s defense system.” “Your identification and assessment are important - and one of the lessons of October 7th is that we must listen carefully to every soldier as part of the command assessment and decision-making process.” IDF Chief of the General Staff, LTG Eyal Zamir, visited the Gaza Division Headquarters (Re’im Camp) today (Tuesday) and held a discussion with the division’s female observation soldiers. During the discussion, the Chief of the General Staff heard from the observation soldiers about their operational activities and the challenges they face in the area. The Chief of the General Staff expressed his appreciation for their activities along the Gaza border and emphasized their significant contribution to protecting the communities near Gaza and Israeli civilians, identifying threats in advance, and safeguarding the security of troops operating in the area. From the remarks of IDF Chief of the General Staff, LTG Eyal Zamir: “I greatly appreciate you and know how important your role is. When I began serving as a battalion commander and brigade commander, I was exposed to the strength of the observation unit and your ability to assist troops on the ground, identify developments, and have a direct impact on what is happening in the area. You protect the country’s borders and the communities in the area, and you are a critical part of the IDF’s defense system. The ability to identify threats in advance, understand the situation, and provide timely warnings is an integral part of our ability to defend the country. One of the central lessons from October 7th is that we must not underestimate the enemy. Our enemies are brutal, and therefore we must remain vigilant and listen to every indication. Your identification and assessment are important, and one of the lessons of October 7th is that we must listen carefully to every soldier as part of the command assessment and decision-making process. Today, we are operating in forward defense areas and protecting Israeli civilians from the frontline in all arenas. You are our eyes on the frontline, the first to identify infiltration threats and call troops to eliminate them. Your ability to understand what is happening, your insight, institutional memory, and deep familiarity with the area make you a significant source of knowledge for commanders. I believe that each and every one of you should be proud of your military service. You protect the country, defend the borders and the people of Israel, and your work is an integral part of our ability to protect Israeli civilians.” Attached are related photos: Ссылка скрыта
