Obsession by Brian de Palma
A rather classic noir movie, with its script originally written and later disowned by Paul Schrader, as he didn’t like how it was shortened by both director and the studio.
If Body Double is Brian de Palma’s sophisticated tribute to Hitchcock’s Vertigo, Obsession is a just a mid-70s version of it, no more. The only memorable thing about it is the bright flame of Geneviève Bujold’s eyes in the Florence segments. New Orleans was already full of gloom.
