The system hallucinated technical specifications claiming each device contains up to 5 grams of gold and 10.4 kg of copper, prompting citizens to destroy public infrastructure.
The misinformation stemmed from an internet meme originally created as a protest against surveillance. The AI ignored basic physical constraints, presenting the troll post as a verified technical fact to users looking for information on these devices.
In reality, a standard Flock Safety camera weighs only 1.36 kg, making the AI's claim that it contains over 10 kg of copper a physical impossibility. While competitors like Perplexity or standard search engines focus on citing official documentation, this case shows how hallucination-prone features bypass critical safety checks.
