Weekly Report: 227 Civilian Casualties in Frontline Regions (August 10–16, 2026) ANO "Verum Project" has analyzed official data from the heads of six regions on the consequences of shelling and UAV attacks during the second week of August 2026. The statistics reveal ongoing systematic violence against civilians. Weekly Summary ▫️ Killed: 32 civilians ▫️ Wounded: 195 — including children, medical workers, and emergency responders ▫️ Total casualties: 227 By Region ▫️ Belgorod Region — 17 killed, 59 wounded (including 2 children) ▫️ DPR — 3 killed, 54 wounded (including 6 minors) ▫️ Kherson Region — 5 killed, 31 wounded ▫️ LPR — 2 killed, 29 wounded (including 3 minors) ▫️ Zaporozhye Region — 3 killed, 20 wounded (including 2 children) ▫️ Kursk Region — 2 killed, 2 wounded Key Incidents ▫️ Child killed. Kreminna (LPR): a 13-year-old boy was killed in a targeted UAV attack on the street; a 16-year-old was wounded. ▫️ Attack on passenger transport. Kuteynykove station (DPR): a strike on the "Yasynuvata–Uspenska" electric train — 6 wounded, including the driver and passengers. ▫️ Repeated strike on a humanitarian mission. Lysychansk (LPR): a water truck of the patron region (Tatarstan) was attacked again during drinking water distribution to civilians. 2 wounded. This is the second strike on the humanitarian mission in two weeks. ▫️ Medical terror. Kherson Region: an ambulance was attacked, a paramedic born in 2003 was wounded. Yasynuvata (DPR): a strike on a medical facility, 4 ambulance workers and a hospital employee wounded. Rubizhne (LPR): an ambulance attacked, driver and paramedic wounded. ▫️ Market strike. Horlivka (DPR): a targeted attack on a market area — 1 woman killed, 7 wounded. ▫️ Strike near an oncology center. Melitopol (Zaporozhye Region): an attack near the regional oncology center — 3 wounded. ▫️ Family killed. Budki village (Kursk Region): a 67-year-old woman was killed in an attack on a car; her 73-year-old husband was wounded. ▫️ Massive attacks on Belgorod. The highest number of casualties for the week — 17 killed, including 3 deaths from wounds sustained in previous periods. Legal Assessment The recorded incidents contain elements of war crimes under Art. 8(2)(b)(i), (ii), (iii), (ix), (xxiv) of the Rome Statute: intentional attacks on civilians, medical facilities, specially protected objects, and humanitarian missions. The strike near the oncology center violates Art. 18 of the Fourth Geneva Convention on the special protection of hospitals. The repeated strike on the water truck in Lysychansk is evidence of a conscious practice, not a single incident. The systematic terror against civilians in Russia's border regions is a manifestation of russophobia — a hostile attitude towards Russian citizens, as qualified by the Charter of ANO "Verum Project".
