Lead Engineer - Tokenization Full-time / Contract / Company: Gyld Finance Gyld Finance is building the infrastructure to bring fixed income on-chain, issuing tokenized financial products (USD corporate bonds) backed 1:1 by underlying securities held with regulated custodians and brokers. The core platform (broker & custody integrations, order execution, settlement, reconciliation, on-chain compliance) is built and the team is approaching launch. Gyld is backed by Lightshift, GSR, Anchorage Digital and others. Responsibilities: - Own and improve systems that place broker orders, process fills, settle trades and reconcile positions and cash. - Build robust handling for failure cases: partial fills, rejected orders, stale states, settlement breaks, retries and reconciliation mismatches. - Work across broker, custodian, banking and crypto rails where they intersect with trading and settlement. - Ensure internal ledger, custodian positions and on-chain supply remain consistent. - Own production services in a Rust-based architecture, improving reliability, observability, monitoring and alerting. - Diagnose and resolve production incidents, and strengthen CI/CD, testing and deployment safety. Requirements: - Strong hands-on experience building trading, order management or execution systems (most important qualification). - Experience owning production systems where correctness and reliability matter. - Strong backend and systems engineering fundamentals; comfort with databases, distributed systems, APIs and async/event-driven architectures. - Rust experience preferred; strong experience in another systems language with ability to ramp into Rust also acceptable. - Working knowledge of blockchain and on-chain settlement concepts (deep smart-contract expertise not required). - Comfortable using AI coding agents as part of daily engineering workflow and able to operate autonomously in a small team. Nice to have: - Built execution or post-trade infrastructure at a broker, exchange, trading firm or fintech. - Operated systems that move meaningful amounts of money. - Worked directly with broker, custodian or exchange APIs. - Experience handling edge cases around orders, settlement and reconciliation. - Experience connecting traditional financial infrastructure with blockchain systems.
