Tuesday, June 2, 2026 Pay Attention Time To Gulf, Tropical Moisture Could Head North This is a quick morning post since I've noticed a well defined spin developing over the southern Gulf. This is an upper low, which usually means a hostile environment for tropical development. WATCHING THE GULF - a low will form off our coast over the next 24-48 hours. Wind shear remains high so tropical development will be minimal, however weather impacts can still be expected late week. 🌀Tropical storm force winds likely over the Gulf 🌊 Persistent east wind to increase tides - coastal flooding ⛈️ Tropical rains rotate inland Thurs - Sat The National Hurricane Center still isn’t highlighting this area but it’s going to be hard to ignore as it pulls itself together Wednesday and Thursday.

Today is the start of the 2026 hurricane season. There is no threat as we head into the first week. The FOX 8 weather team of 5 will keep you updated throughout the season. Back home keep the umbrella nearby as tropical moisture streams in from the Gulf through the week.

The Gulf will become disturbed later this week as a weak low forms south of Louisiana. Tropical development looks unlikely but a lot of tropical moisture will pool down there. Does some of this get transported into TX/LA by Thursday and Friday? It’s possible so that’s something to watch this week.
