📝 The agency cited a report by the National Secretariat for Digital Rights of the Ministry of Justice and Public Security, which identified shortcomings in the company's age verification and child protection mechanisms, potentially leading to the platform being blocked in the country.
🤝 Discord representatives attended a meeting in Brasília with attorneys from the Office of the Attorney General. During the meeting, the AGU stated that "the protection of children and adolescents constitutes a legal duty and a responsibility that must be effectively assumed by digital platforms."
💬 According to the statement, Discord representatives expressed their willingness to undertake commitments consistent with Brazilian law. It was agreed that the platform would submit a proposal outlining measures and procedures to address the identified shortcomings.
