China is building the world's fastest magnetic levitation train — the test platform accelerates to 700 km/h in just 2 seconds.
This is a new world record for superconducting maglev systems. Magnetic levitation allows the train to float above the track without friction, which offers enormous advantages in terms of speed.
Engineers promise that passenger trains will reach speeds of up to 1,000 km/h.
