Meet Ms Chrizonia Bennett — our new Year 3 Teacher at CIS Tashkent! 🌍📚 We are delighted to welcome Ms Chrizonia to the CIS community as she joins our Primary School team. With 17 years of teaching experience, Ms Chrizonia brings extensive expertise in Primary School education and a strong passion for helping young learners build confidence, develop essential academic skills, and discover their potential. She holds a specialist degree in Education focused on foundational learning for students aged 6–9. Throughout her career, she has supported students across Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and English Language Arts, developing targeted strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners. Ms Chrizonia strongly believes that meaningful education is built through a strong partnership between school and family. She values open communication with parents and is passionate about supporting children’s psychological development, key milestones, and school readiness. As an educator, she takes great pride in nurturing confidence, academic growth, leadership skills, and a genuine love of learning — helping students establish a strong foundation for lifelong success. Meet Ms Danielle Blake — our Year 5 Teacher at CIS Tashkent! 🌍📚 We are delighted to welcome Ms Danielle back to the CIS community, this time in Tashkent! Originally from South Africa, Danielle is passionate about teaching, learning from different cultures, and bringing international experiences into the classroom. Her career in education has taken her to more than five countries, giving her a truly international perspective on teaching and learning. Before joining CIS Tashkent, Danielle worked at our sister school, CIS Gorki in Moscow. Last year, she taught Year 2 and previously served as a Phase Leader for three years, supporting both students and fellow teachers. Danielle enjoys bringing her international experience into the classroom to create engaging and meaningful learning opportunities that inspire students to be curious, confident, and enthusiastic learners. Outside of teaching, Danielle is adventurous and loves travelling, cooking, and painting. ✈️🎨 We are excited to welcome Danielle to CIS Tashkent and look forward to the experience, creativity, and international perspective she will bring to our Year 5 Green students and the wider CIS community. Meet Ms Memory Jonkers- our new Year 6 Teacher 🌍📚 We are delighted to welcome our new colleague to the CIS community. Originally from South Africa, Ms Memory brings more than 11 years of teaching experience across the world, as well as experience in supporting and mentoring fellow teachers. With a strong commitment to creating positive, inclusive, and engaging classrooms, she believe that every child should feel valued, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential. Beyond the classroom, she has a true passion for dance and music. Exploring different styles of dance and sharing the joy of movement and creativity with children is something particularly close to her heart. Through dance and creative expression, Ms Memory encourages students to build confidence, discover their individuality, and enjoy the freedom of self-expression. 💃🎶 We are excited to welcome Ms Memory to our Primary school team and look forward to the energy, creativity, and experience she will bring to our Year 6 students and the wider CIS community. Meet Mr David — our new Year 5 Teacher at CIS Tashkent! 🌍📚 We are delighted to welcome Mr David to the CIS community. With more than 25 years of teaching and coaching experience across South Africa, the UK, and Uzbekistan, David brings extensive expertise in English, primary education, student development, and mentoring. David currently works as a Teacher of English (TEFL) for Grades 5–11 under the Ministry of Preschool and School Education of Uzbekistan, where he is involved in co-teaching and teacher masterclasses. Throughout his career, he has also held roles as a Grade Head, English Teacher, Class Teacher, and Head of Junior Primary Sport. His educational background includes a Higher Diploma in Education, a Bachelor of Education with QTS, and a Master of Arts in Education and Innovation from Webster University, Tashkent. David believes that education goes beyond academic achievement. His approach combines strong academic foundations with communication, resilience, character development, problem-solving, and practical life skills. Through student-centred learning, collaboration, mentoring, and interactive teaching strategies, he aims to help young people become confident, curious, and capable learners. Outside the classroom, David is passionate about sports and the outdoors. He has experience coaching cricket, rugby, and hockey and enjoys canoeing, mountain biking, outdoor adventures, and photography. We are excited to have David join our Primary team and look forward to the experience, energy, and new perspectives he will bring to our Year 5 students and the wider CIS community. ✨ Welcome to CIS, Dr. Tom! ✨ We are delighted to welcome Dr. Thomas E. Simpson as our new Head of Secondary at Cambridge International School Tashkent! 💙 With an impressive 49 years in secondary education, Dr. Tom brings extensive experience as a science teacher, coach, Dean of Students and Principal. For the past 20 years, he has worked in international education across Egypt, Zambia and China. Throughout his leadership career, he has had the opportunity to help establish and lead new schools, including serving as a founding principal of a middle school in Shenzhen and a high school in Wuhan. Dr. Tom holds an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and completed the Principal’s Academy at Harvard University. His approach to school leadership is grounded in drive, energy, dedication and a strong commitment to students and staff. Beyond education, Dr. Tom enjoys reading, walking, swimming and exploring new places. He also brings a passion for sport, having coached both football (soccer) and wrestling. Family is an important part of Dr. Tom’s life. His wife, Imee (May), and their three children are based in the Philippines, where his children are currently studying at universities. As we begin the 2026–27 academic year, we are excited to welcome Dr. Tom to our CIS community and look forward to the experience, energy and leadership he will bring to our Secondary School.
