Hi there! A fresh #CivilSocietyDigest is here — check out this week’s opportunities in civil society and human rights. ➨ OII Europe is looking for a full-time Administration and Finance Officer (Junior position) to join its Berlin-based team. The role will support the organisation’s administrative and financial work and day-to-day operations behind its human rights, policy, awareness-raising and community-building activities. The role is 40 hours per week. Apply by 25 September 2026 at 13:00 CEST. More information here. ➨ The Martin Roth-Initiative (MRI) is accepting applications for temporary relocation funding in Germany for artists and cultural practitioners at risk. The programme supports people worldwide who face threats or persecution because of their work or civic engagement and do not currently have a safe place to stay. Applications are submitted jointly by the artist or cultural practitioner and a host organisation in Germany, such as a cultural institution, collective or civil society organisation. Applications for funding in Germany are open until 11 September 2026. ➨ The Eastern Partnership Civil Society Facility has opened applications for Fellowships Without Borders 2026, supporting civic activists from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine whose work, communities or learning extend across borders. Fellows can develop projects in Eastern Partnership countries, EU Member States, or EU Candidate Countries, including study visits, research, advocacy, community initiatives, civic tech projects, and cross-border cooperation. Selected participants will receive approximately €5,000. Apply by 11 September. ➨ PILnet, together with Orrick, A&O Shearman, UNHCR, and Refugee Congress, is organising the second US Refugee Rights Pro Bono Workshop on 10 September. The online session is aimed at refugee-led organisations and nonprofits working with refugees, forcibly displaced people, and stateless communities in the United States. Participants will learn how to access pro bono legal support, build effective partnerships with law firms, navigate common challenges, and develop strong project proposals. The workshop will also prepare interested organisations for a Pro Bono Pitching Roundtable on 16 October, where they can present projects directly to law firms. Register here.
