The bad weather that hit Cyprus today has caused changes to airline schedules.
Several aircraft were unable to land at Larnaca Airport and were diverted to other airports.
An Air Astana aircraft from Astana, after circling over Larnaca, eventually flew to Crete, while an Aegean aircraft from Athens was diverted to Rhodes. A Qatar Airways aircraft from Doha headed to Athens, while two Cyprus Airways aircraft — one from Athens and the other from Skiathos — were diverted to Beirut.
An EasyJet aircraft operating a flight from Amsterdam to Larnaca flew to the island of Kos. A Wizz Air aircraft from Budapest was also unable to land in Larnaca and headed to Paphos. Ryanair from Poznań and British Airways from London were also diverted to Paphos instead of Larnaca.
In addition, according to the flight information boards at both Cypriot airports, a significant number of flights are arriving with delays.
