On the morning of 11 September, around 190 passengers on a flight from Larnaca to Rome were evacuated from the aircraft after a bomb threat was received.
This appears to be a Wizz Air flight: according to the airport’s departures board, it was scheduled to depart at 10:40 and has now been delayed until approximately 14:20. No other Larnaca — Rome flights are scheduled for today.
According to Philenews, Cyprus’s Transport Minister Evi Tsolaki said that government agencies had received a fax reporting a bomb on board. The message claimed that the bomb, inside a piece of luggage on board the aircraft, would explode in 20 minutes. Following the checks, the threat was deemed false.
