Dubai added 161,335 people in seven months. The population clock read 4,741,335 on 30 July 2026 — up from 4.58 million at the end of 2025. That is roughly 760 new residents every day, arriving with luggage and a lease. Growth dipped in the first quarter, then accelerated again in the second. Six days a week it runs guided visits for non-Muslims under a programme called Open Doors, Open Minds. Coffee and dates first. Then questions, including the difficult ones. The most photographed building on that road is also the one that answers back.

The Dubai Fountain fell silent in April 2025 — the lake drained, the floor rebuilt, the lighting and sound stripped out and replaced. It came back on 1 October. Jets still reach 140 metres, the choreography now run with robotics. Watching it costs nothing. It never has. The most expensive thing in Downtown is also the only free one.

The ten-year Golden Visa still sits at AED 2 million, and multiple properties can be combined to reach it. One route got cheaper. The other didn't move. Residency here has always been sold in tiers. Within the DIFC, cases are heard in English, under common law, with binding precedent — a separate court system from the Arabic-language civil law courts a few streets away. Two parties anywhere in the world can name it in a contract and be heard there, with no connection to Dubai at all. Established 2004. Hearing cases since 2006. Dubai didn't ask foreign capital to trust its courts. It built a second set they already trusted.
