One of Europe’s busiest airports is preparing to make room for almost 18 million more passengers a year. Paris Charles de Gaulle is entering the final phase of an €8.2 billion expansion plan that includes a new boarding facility, an internal rail line and redesigned terminal access, potentially lifting annual capacity to nearly 90 million passengers by 2035. The project still faces regulatory review and consultations with airlines, some of which have pushed back against the investment programme. Bigger terminals may solve the capacity problem - although getting everyone to agree on the bill could be the harder part.
