Romanian business outlet Economedia.ro has reported on Freedom24's latest expansion plans in the European Union. According to the publication, the company is expected to open an office in Romania by the end of this year, with a local hub focused on sales, compliance and operational support. The entry into Romania is part of a broader phased strategy that also includes the Czech Republic and follows the model already being applied in Bulgaria, where the company already has a presence.
Freedom24 focuses on integrating banking, investment and loyalty services into a single digital ecosystem. The platform currently serves over 600,000 clients in the EU, with important markets in Greece, Germany, Poland, Lithuania and Spain. The company relies on a centralized operational model with its technology and infrastructure developed in Cyprus, where the company has over 500 tech talents. Services are distributed locally through small offices managing market relationships and compliance.📈
The expansion into Romania and other markets in the region signals Freedom24's transition from a regional player to one with global ambitions, with a stated goal of obtaining a banking license in the EU. For Romania, the entry of a new player could bring increased competition in the retail investment and digital financial services segment, along with potential new job opportunities in compliance, sales and financial technology.
