Freedom24 has hosted a fireside chat in Limassol featuring Daniil Liberman, technology and AI entrepreneur, alongside Freedom Holding Corp. CEO Timur Turlov. The discussion brought global debates on AI, computing power and decentralisation directly to Cyprus, highlighting how these issues are shaping economies, regulation and investment decisions worldwide. 🌍
During the conversation, Liberman shared his background in science, technology, media and entrepreneurship, tracing his path from early computing and research influences to work in Silicon Valley and the founding of multiple technology businesses. The discussion examined how AI infrastructure has become increasingly concentrated among major hardware and cloud providers, as well as the geopolitical implications of access to advanced computing power, placing Cyprus within a broader global context. 🇨🇾
A key focus of the discussion was how these technological shifts translate into real-world economic and strategic challenges. Centralised cloud models and their limitations were examined, with decentralised computing discussed as a potential alternative through the lens of community-governed AI infrastructure. The conversation also touched on energy consumption, efficiency improvements, and why questions around AI, compute access and digital sovereignty are becoming increasingly relevant beyond the technology sector.
The event reinforced Freedom24’s ambition to act as a bridge between Cyprus and global technology discourse, offering local audience access to debates usually confined to major innovation hubs. 🌐
