On November 24, 2025, the closing ceremony of the 9th European Small Nations Team Chess Championship took place in Larnaca, marking the end of one of the most exciting and memorable chess events of the year. This prestigious team competition not only celebrated the spirit of chess but also emphasised the importance of unity, dedication, and strategic thinking - principles that are fundamental to Freedom24.
Bulat Latypov, Chief Communications Officer at Freedom24, highlighted the significance of the championship: "It’s a pleasure to welcome the European Small Nations Association teams to Cyprus and to stand once again alongside the Cyprus Chess Federation as a long-term partner. For us at Freedom24, chess is more than a game, it builds strategic thinking, resilience and respect, values we try to deliver every day. As a company headquartered in Limassol, we are proud to support the local chess community, from grassroots initiatives to elite competitions, including the 9th ESNA Team Chess Championship."
Cyprus’ team delivered an excellent performance, securing third place with 15 match points and proudly earning the bronze medal, marking the first time Cyprus has placed in the top three at a tournament of this level. The Faroe Islands obtained the championship title with the highest number of game points among the leaders, with Andorra earning a silver medal.
This event aligns with Freedom24’s broader commitment to support the development of chess across Europe and continued efforts to promote excellence and ethical sportsmanship.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the Cyprus National Chess Team for their outstanding performance and well-deserved bronze medal in the tournament!
