Dedicated to Victor Emmanuel II, the first king of unified Italy, this monumental structure is a true symbol of national unity. Locals have affectionately nicknamed it the "Wedding Cake" and the "Typewriter" for its unique design. ☀️
Fun Fact: The Vittoriano is made of white Botticino marble and is one of the most prominent examples of neoclassical architecture in Rome. It houses the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the Museum of the Risorgimento, which details the history of Italian unification.
