A tourist was deported from Bali for working on a VOA.
It’s important to remember that VOA/eVOA is a tourist visa only.
It does not allow you to work, collaborate with companies, teach, run workshops, film commercial content, offer services, or receive any form of payment — even “barter.”
Bali has increased monitoring: inspections, raids, social-media checks, and reviews of any commercial activity. Violating visa rules now very often leads to deportation and a ban on re-entry.
If you plan to work, teach, collaborate with studios/schools, manage events, create commercial content, or run a business — choose the correct visa type from the start. It’s safer, cheaper, and protects you from unnecessary risks.
