One of the most scenic stairs in Saint-Petersburg ✨
The corridors of houses right after the entrance door are called Paradnye in Saint-Petersburg. It is a special way for the citizens to mark their unique culture. The house with the picturesque stairs and the paradnaya where they are located is placed on the Griboedov embankment.
At the end of the 18th century, the architect Yevgeny Sokolov designed and built a mansion on the embankment of the Griboyedov Canal. Outside, the house stands out little, but inside there is an unusual grand staircase, surrounded by red walls on one side and black railings with gilded decorations on lattices on the other. Since 2001, the house has been included in the list of city objects of cultural significance.
Very cinematographic stairs with red walls and spiral steps. It looks like the stairs seduce you to go up. The picture seems to come right from the movie of the famous Spanish director Pedro Almodovar.
