House number 21 or “Fairytale house” is the most fairy house in Saint-Petersburg 🌟
It is not an official name of the fabulous mansion, but locals call it “Fairytale house” because the facade reminds of about the gingerbread house thanks to its architecture.
This building in the New Russian style has become a noticeable phenomenon in the architectural style of Russia in 1909 year. The architect Alexander Bernardazzi built the house by the order of the gold miner Koltsov. The mansion was built at the corner of Angliysky Prospect, which immediately received the nickname "Fairytale house" among local people for its appearance.
The "Fairytale house" immediately became very popular among the creative elite of the city. Also, the location nearby of the Mariinsky Theater determined the contingent of the first inhabitants of this house. Theater workers and actors lived there for a long time. The most famous person who lived in the house was the worldwide famous ballerina Anna Pavlova.
