Lead Engineer - Tokenization Employment type: Full-time / Contract/Company: Gyld Finance Gyld Finance builds infrastructure to bring fixed income on-chain, issuing tokenized USD corporate bonds backed 1:1 by the underlying security held with regulated custodians and brokers. The core platform (broker & custody integrations, order execution, settlement, reconciliation and on-chain compliance) is built and the team is approaching launch; Gyld is backed by Lightshift, GSR and Anchorage Digital. Responsibilities: - Own and improve systems that place broker orders, process fills, settle trades and reconcile positions and cash. - Build for critical failure cases: partial fills, rejected orders, stale states, settlement breaks and retries. - Work across broker, custodian, banking and crypto rails where they intersect with trading and settlement. - Ensure internal ledger, custodian positions and on-chain supply remain consistent. - Own production services in a Rust-based architecture; improve reliability, observability and CI/CD. - Diagnose and resolve production incidents involving live orders or settlement. - Design and document pragmatic architecture and operational procedures for a small team. Requirements: - Strong hands-on experience building trading, order management or execution systems. - Experience owning production systems where correctness and reliability matter. - Strong backend and systems engineering fundamentals. - Rust experience preferred; strong experience in another systems language with ability to ramp to Rust is acceptable. - Comfort with databases, distributed systems, APIs and asynchronous/event-driven architectures. - Working knowledge of blockchain and on-chain settlement concepts (deep smart-contract expertise not required). - Comfortable using AI coding agents as part of the engineering workflow and available to join in the near term. Nice to have: - Built execution or post-trade infrastructure at a broker, exchange, trading firm or fintech. - Operated systems that move meaningful amounts of money. - Worked directly with broker, custodian or exchange APIs. - Dealt with edge cases around orders, settlement and reconciliation. - Experience connecting traditional financial infrastructure with blockchain systems.
