Responsibilities: - Lead a team of engineers and take ownership of their execution, delivery, impact, and growth. - Hire, mentor, and coach engineers; drive retention and career development. - Refine the engineering roadmap and create technology strategy for your team. - Drive operational excellence and processes to sustain a high-performance engineering team. - Work closely with Product Managers to align product plans, team bandwidth, and technical realities. - Collaborate with other engineering managers, recruiting, and stakeholders on hiring and growth planning. Requirements: - Proven experience managing and growing geographically distributed engineering teams. - Real-world experience building complex distributed systems. - Strong computer science fundamentals (concurrency, algorithms, data structures). - Passion for code quality, test infrastructure, and building services from scratch and supporting them long-term. - Applied cryptography knowledge and strong interest in blockchain protocol research and cryptoasset innovations. - Professional experience with Go, Rust, TypeScript, or Solidity (Go commonly used). - Strong soft skills: creative, humble, ambitious, detail-oriented, hardworking, trustworthy, eager to learn, methodical, action-oriented, and tenacious.
