In the first half of 2026, there were 3,865 cases with S$8.3 million lost — a 19.3% increase from the same period in 2025. 😱 Scammers have impersonated courier companies like NinjaVan, JT express and sent phishing text messages (via Apple IMessage) to victims, claiming delays in delivery. Govt agencies have similarly been impersonated too, and text messages would claim outstanding fines. These messages require victims to reply to activate an attached link. The link leads them to a fake payment portal which steals their bank/credit card details. At least 2.2 million have been lost since June 2026. 💸 What you should do: ✅ Access the agency’s official website or app directly instead of clicking unsolicited links ✅ Never enter your card details through links in unsolicited messages ☎️ Unsure if it's a scam? Scammers are taking over Telegram accounts via fake government voucher schemes ⚠️ Fraudulent messages impersonating CDC, GST, and Transport vouchers are circulating on Telegram, tricking victims into giving up personal details and Telegram OTPs to seize control of their accounts.
