The Forgetting Tax
A significant share of digital spending goes to "zombie services"—apps you don't use but keep paying for due to laziness or cognitive biases. This isn't just a waste; it is an inflationary tax on your inattention.
In a competitive environment, services rely on the fact that the effort to unsubscribe outweighs the value of the savings. Statistics show that up to 15% of monthly subscriptions are "dead weight."
