10 A.M. UPDATE: Air Force Hurricane Hunters found Tropical Storm Bertha has strengthened, with maximum sustained winds now at 60 mph.
Bertha remains about 70 miles south-southwest of Panama City, Florida, and 145 miles southeast of Mobile, Alabama, as it moves slowly along the northern Gulf Coast.
Bertha is forecast to make landfall near the mouth of the Mississippi River Wednesday afternoon. Tropical storm-force gusts are most likely near the immediate coast, with weaker winds farther inland. The heaviest rain may stay near the coast or offshore, meaning much of Wednesday could remain sunny and breezy away from coastal areas.
