A stormy setup late this week is giving model guidance fits and making meteorologists pull their hair out. A lot of details still to be ironed out regarding timing and location of highest rainfall amounts, but we need to monitor the flash flood risk into this weekend. The signal is increasing for hot spots of 5-10+ inches over the next 5 days across parts of the Deep South. We need the rain desperately to help with ongoing drought, but too much of a good thing will likely cause flood concerns. It won't be a non-stop deluge, but expect daily chances for storms. Thursday: Spotty to scattered storms with passage of the front. Not a washout. Friday: Stalled front likely to fire up intermittent heavy storms along the I/10 corridor. Saturday-early Sunday: More vigorous disturbance may increase rain coverage and heavy rain risk.

Strong storms are headed our way midweek. Arriving late Wednesday and could linger into Thursday. Damaging winds will be the main threat, but heavy rain, hail, and tornadoes are also possible. Here's what makes this tricky: the front bringing these storms may stall right over us (or near us), which means we could see storms flare up each day leading into Mother's Day weekend. If it continues south, we have a chance to dry out by the end of the week. We shall see! More updates to come. #nola #lawx mswx

Troopers with Louisiana State Police had the privilege of escorting Artemis II hardware across Louisiana as it made its way to NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, supporting a historic mission. Seen here is the Orion spacecraft crew capsule, which carried astronauts on NASA’s Artemis II mission, the first crewed journey to the Moon in more than 50 years. Artemis II was the first crewed flight of the SLS rocket and Orion spacecraft, completing a nearly 10-day mission around the Moon. Louisiana State Police is proud to support efforts of national significance. Ссылка скрыта

“Adorned in Lace” Lake Martin, Louisiana The rising sun shines its light on a cypress and the flowing Spanish moss hanging from its delicate branches. When I take photographers out on photo tours, one of the things I’m sure they get tired of, is hearing me fawn over Spanish moss. Whether it’s talking about how to capture it in a way to bring more mystery to an image or how to utilize sunlight to make it the focal point of the scene, my love for moss draping on the branches of cypress or oak trees can’t be denied. I hope you like this image of it! Ссылка скрыта
