🎹 Spotify 2022 Сегодня вышел Wrapped 2022 от Sporify. Вы можете узнать статистику по прослушиванию музыки в этом году. Мне всегда интересен Wrapped с визуальной точки зрения. Какой будет визуальный язык, как он будет работать с разным контентом и оставаться красивым. В этом году Wrapped получился одним из самых приятных с модными и яркими формами. Еще ребята сделали интересную штуку — записали видео с самыми популярными артистами. Кажется вот совсем необязательная фича в приложении для стриминга, но эмоции вызывает очень приятные. Обратите внимание на торчащее видео снизу, возможно еще не все понимают этот паттерн из Тиктока. ➖ 🎹 Spotify 2022 Spotify’s Wrapped 2022 came out today. You can check out this year’s music stats. I’m always interested in Wrapped from a visual standpoint. What the visual language will be, how it will work with different content, and stay fresh. This year Wrapped turned out to be one of the prettiest and nicest with trendy and bright shapes. The guys also did an interesting thing - they recorded videos with the most famous artists. It seems an optional feature in the streaming app, but it brings up delightful emotions. Note the protruding video below, perhaps not everyone understands this pattern from TikTok yet.

🤗 Устойчивая упаковка в Маках Макдональдс в Франции выпустил (пока на несколько ресторанов) многоразовую упаковку с узнаваемыми формами. Очень нравится текстура (полосочки на упаковке) и безумно милый Хэппимил. Очень надеюсь, что эта инициатива захватит все рестораны и что Макдональдс будет следить не только за упаковкой, но и за сотрудниками (они так выгорают, это ужас), цепочками поставок и конечными производителями (но это еще не скоро, шестиренки капитализма должны крутиться). ➖ 🤗 Sustainable package in McDonald's McDonald's in France has released (so far for a few restaurants) reusable packaging with recognizable shapes. I love the texture (the stripes on the package) and the insanely cute Happy Meal. I hope this initiative takes over all restaurants and that McDonald's keeps an eye on not only the packaging but also the employees (their working conditions is really bad), the supply chains, and the end producers (but it's a while yet, gears of capitalism have to spin).

The QR code, or Quick Response code, was invented by a subsidiary of Toyota to track parts across the manufacturing process. It had some significant advantages compared to barcodes: the QR code could be read at all angles and store more data relative to its size. Простая, но интересная анимация по нажатию на кнопку. Обожаю всякие мелочи и приколы, ведь из таких мелочей и формируется общее ощущение от продукта. Сори, я не помню, из какого приложения эта анимация 😒 ➖ Simple but exciting animation while pressing a button. I love little things like this because they shape the overall impression of the product. Необычный фильтр в приложении Spotify 🎹 Никогда такого не видел (на самом деле он есть в выдаче Google Search и Google TV). Этот паттерн хорошо будет работать, если у вас есть категории с категориями внутри. Паттерн редкий, поэтому лучше потестировать понятен ли он вашим пользователями. ➖ Interesting filter in the Spotify app 🎹 I've never seen this before (in fact, you can see it on Google Search and Google TV). This pattern will work well if you have categories with categories inside. The pattern is rare, so it's best to test it on your users.

Дизайн для больших телефонов Вчера вышла новая операционная система Apple — iOS 16. Небольшая деталь привлекла внимание — это тренд к перемещению многих элементов вниз экрана. Экраны становятся больше, но пальцы еще не адаптировались к ним и поэтому нужно дизайнить чтобы было удобно добираться до всех элементов на экране. Примеры из iOS 16: 1. Раньше, чтобы вызвать поле поиска Spotlight (это поиск всего на свете на телефоне) нужно было потянуть экран вниз, а теперь снизу добавилась более очевидная кнопка и поле поиска теперь находится над клавиатурой 2. Уведомления на домашнем экране опустились ниже. Это позволит сфокусировать внимание человека на часах, но и позволит удобнее нажимать на уведомления. Я все равно считаю, если человек захочет что-то нажать, то он/она без проблем дотянется до чего угодно, но иногда полезно упростить задачу. ➖ Design for large phones Yesterday Apple released its new operating system, iOS 16. A small detail that has attracted attention is the trend to move many elements down the screen. The screens are getting bigger, but the fingers have not yet adapted to them, so it is necessary to design to reach all the elements on the screen comfortably. Examples from iOS 16: 1. Previously, you had to pull the screen down to bring up the Spotlight search field (that's searching for everything on the phone), but now a more prominent button has been added at the bottom, and the search field is directly above the keyboard 2. Notifications on the home screen have moved lower. This will focus the person's attention on the watch and make it more convenient to click on notifications. I still believe that if a person wants to press something, they'll have no problem reaching for anything, but sometimes it's helpful to keep it simple.

Dynamic Island 🥰 Только что прошла презентация Apple и были представлены новые телефоны. В целом презентация мне понравилась, но больше всего мне понравился новый паттерн — Dynamic Island. Уведомления и интерактивные элементы теперь появляются сверху и используют свободное пространство вокруг челки. Очень интересное обновление как аппаратного, так и программного обеспечения которое однозначно повлияет на то как мы разрабатываем приложения для iOS. Оглядываясь назад, можно сказать, что это объясняет многие из последних дизайнерских решений Apple в iOS: округлые уведомления, Live Activities, компактный UI. ➖ Dynamic Island 🥰 There was an Apple presentation, and new phones came out. Overall I liked the presentation, but I loved the new pattern — Dynamic Island. Notifications and interactive elements now appear on top and use the free space around the notch. A very interesting update of both hardware and software that will affect the way we develop apps for iOS. In hindsight, it explains many of Apple's recent design decisions on iOS: pill-shaped alerts, Live Activities, and compact UI.

➖ TVs 🥪 In the age of streaming, covid, we have become more likely to watch movies or videos on our televisions. Standard TV settings distort the picture and change it (most often for the worse). James Gunn, Martin Scorsese, Paul Thomas Anderson, and many other directors complained about these problems. So how do televisions distort the image? Traditionally, movies were shot at 24 frames per second to create the cinematic look that everyone is used to. However, televisions can display content at 50, 60, and even 120 frames per second. As a result, TV manufacturers use many post-processing effects, such as motion smoothing. Smoothing is accomplished through frame interpolation (TV adds missing frames on its own and makes the video smoother). Consequently, movies and videos become smooth, but because of this, there are distortions (especially in scenes with active motion). There are also problems with white balance, brightness, noise reduction, sharpening, and more... So what to do? The ideal is to buy a TV with Filmmaker Mode support. With Filmmaker Mode enabled, your TV will show you a good, distortion-free picture. If your TV doesn't support it, adjust the frame rate of the original video and turn down the brightness a bit.
