Jesus Christ is Our Everything: Depend on Him! In this world that is filled with shifting ground and changing situations, one thing is sure, Jesus Christ is our unshakable, unchangeable, and unbreakable foundation. Colossians 1:15-17 says: "Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist." He is not just a good teacher or wise man, but He is our Creator, and Sustainer, the One who holds everything together, and is in control of everything. When we feel unsure, weak, or overwhelmed, we are not to carry the burdens alone. Jesus Christ is there through all the storms of life, with us, and close to us. We must depend on Jesus at all times, not just a last resort. So even during good times, put your full faith and trust in Him; so when the bad times hit, we will be firm on His foundation and promises. Jesus Christ is the Good Shepherd(John 10:11), the Bread of Life(John 6:35), the Door(John 10:9), the True Vine(John 15:1,5), the Light of the World(John 8:12), the Resurrection and the Life(John 11:25), the Way the Truth, and the Life(John 14:6), and the Great I AM(John 8:58 & Exodus 3:14). When we lean on Him fully, with all of our hearts, trusting in Him and His plan/purpose for us, we can find a peace beyond all understanding, a peace that is not of this world; we find purpose, power and strength to endure and keep going! So whatever storms of life you are facing today, you don't need to be enough, because Jesus Christ already is. Our strength comes from Him alone, and we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us(Phil 4:13)! Love Him, trust Him, have faith in Him, and wait upon Him, and He will lead and guide you through it. He has promised that all things work together for good to those who love Him! You are not alone. Worry, stress, and anxiety creeps up into our minds when we try to shoulder and carry burdens we were never meant to bear alone. But Jesus talks about this in Matthew 6:25-34. He reminds us that we are not to be anxious about our lives; what we eat, drink or wear. He also talks about how he clothes and feeds the birds and lilies of the field, so "Are ye not much better than they?" The message is clear; if God cares deeply for the smallest things in creation, how much more does He care and provide for you? Instead of letting stress, worry, anxiety and creeping thoughts rule your thinking, God wants us to TRUST in Him, with childlike faith. Philippians 4:6-7 says: "Be careful for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.". So when we truly let go and trust in Him, we can have peace beyond all understanding. A peace only faith in Christ can give us; knowing He is always with, will never leave us, nor forsake us. And we are promised that ALL things work together for good to them that love God(Romans 8:28). Hold onto God's promises today! He is with you, right now in this very moment. He is near, and He loves you! Show Him your love by having faith, patience in waiting and trusting in His perfect plan for you! When you with Jesus, you're not walking towards defeat; you're walking in victory. The storms of life may hit hard and wear you down, and it may feel like you are losing battles, but in Christ, the battle is already won! Romans 8:37 says: "Nay, in all these things we see more than conquerors through him that loved us.". That's means no matter what you face in life; pain, loss, heartache, sickness, or setbacks, Jesus has already overcome it, and through him, with his strength, so have you. You may feel weak, but He is strong. You may feel surrounded, but you are secured. Because with Jesus, the cross didn't end in death, but began with His Resurrection; that power now lays inside you! So don't quit! Don't count yourself out. With Jesus Christ, you are never walking in defeat, but in divine victory and destiny! If God be for us, who or what can be against us!
