A huge wildfire has already swept across more than 1,500 hectares of southwestern France, leaving homes under threat as crews race to contain it. With the fire still not fully under control, attention is now turning to the weather, as forecast rain could give exhausted crews the help they badly need. Sometimes the most welcome reinforcement arrives from the sky.
