Microtonal music or microtonality is the use in music of microtones—intervals smaller than a semitone, also called "microintervals". It may also be extended to include any music using intervals not found in the customary Western tuning of twelve equal intervals per octave. Here is the example of microtonal guitar. Tolgahan Çoğulu designed his "Adjustable Microtonal Guitar" in 2008. In designing Adjustable Microtonal Guitar, Tolgahan Çoğulu was inspired by René Lacote's and Walter Vogt's guitars. On the Adjustable Microtonal Guitar's fretboard, all the frets are movable in the channels under each string. Besides, any number of frets can be inserted into or removed from the fretboard. Enjoy! William Walton  (1902 - 1983) was an English composer. During a sixty-year career, he wrote music in several classical genres and styles, from film scores to opera. Five Bagatelles is his only work for solo guitar. "Never having thought of writing for the guitar, I asked Julian Bream for a chart which would explain what the guitar could do. I managed to write some rather pretty pieces for him, except that the first six notes of the first piece all need to be played on open strings. Evangelina Mascardi is considered one of the most prominent lute players on the international scene. Born in Buenos Aires in 1977, she graduated in classical guitar and started her concert career as a highly gifted young soloist. In 1997 she moved to Europe to study with Hopkinson Smith at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis (Basel, Switzerland). During the last decade she collaborated regularly as a continuo-player with Jordi Savall (Hespèrion XXI), Marc Minkowsky (Les Musiciens du Louvre), Andrea Marcon (Venice Baroque Orchestra), Giovanni Antonini (Giardino Armonico), Chiara Banchini (415), Simon Rattle (Berliner Philarmoniker). Egberto Gismonti (b. 1947, Brazil) is a musician of extraordinary facility--a guitarist with a highly evolved, personal technique, as well as a fine pianist. A virtuoso on both guitar and piano, Egberto Gismonti has created a body of work that stand at the crossroads of his native Brazil’s folk tradition and the world of classical music, in a way which echoes his predecessor Heitor Villa-Lobos. He is also a masterful improviser. Gismonti has been described as approaching the fretboard as though it were a keyboard, often creating the impression of more than one player.
